Yvette Lyons, Ph.D., and Carla Bittencourt, M.A. are teaming up to offer a 12 month training program in Expressive Arts Therapy. Both Dr. Yvette & Carla have years of experience in Expressive Arts Therapy. They have trained, therapists, company leaders and other professionals to use the arts and the creative process to enrich their lives and their careers. Now we are teaming up to offer you a lifetime of experience in one training program.

Expressive Arts Therapy is a multi-modal approach to healing, self-actualization, social healing and collaboration. It incorporates a combination of Art, Music, Movement, Writing to help in a multitude of areas, personally, socially and globally. In my Expressive Arts Training I also combine SandTray World Play Therapy, and MARI (Mandala Assessment Research Inventory) training.
Each weekend will be a balanced combination of didactic information combined with experiential exercises designed to put into practice the information for that module. Exercises will revolve around how the arts create healing for the body, mind, emotions and Soul. Additionally we will look at how the arts can be used with various populations in different venues.
Weekends will be held in Carlsbad Calif. At the Live Your Art Studio on Saturdays and Sundays 9-5PM. We will meet one weekend per month for 12 months.

During this last Module, students will be asked to facilitate an Expressive Arts Exercise as their final project.

1. Expressive Arts Therapy Manuel
2. Six (6) one-hour long supervision meetings via GoTo Meeting; for 6 months after the training to provide a gathering where participants can:

Get support and feedback from Group and Supervisor
3. A Private Facebook Page for only your training group will be included in this program. This FB page will be a safe confidential place where participants can meet in-between weekends to have ongoing support and interaction. This facebook page will be monitored by the instructor. During the month people can share their work and ask questions get feedback and collaborate.
4. Art materials will be provided. Students will be asked to bring 1 Art Journal (no lines).
